ramen

So many great memories with Dan. Ramen will forever hold a special place in my heart after meeting him for lunch downtown back in the summer, when I was hunting around for a job and had applied for a role at Plains. I hadn’t seen Dan in a quite a while and it was like we had never skipped a beat. We caught up on our families, what our daughters were getting up to and discussed his cancer as he had an upcoming test that would determine the future frequency of testing depending on the results. Even with all of that he was going through, he was able to take time out his day to grab lunch and catch up, go through my resume and cover letter and talk to the hiring manager for me. After lunch I offered to pay as a thank you and Dan responded, “ No. I’ve got this one… you owe me a lunch once I help you get a job and we can celebrate.”

I ended up getting a role at another midstream company and texted Dan in September  to let him know and thank him for all the help. Even with everything he was going through, he texted me back, wanted to know a ton of details and was truly excited for me.

Dan was  a stand up guy. He took the time to help, to listen, to care and to make you feel like a million bucks.
